Ruimsig/Monument Toyota 48 Hour

The first event was held in 1997 at Ruimsig. 6 of the 7 entrants started and finished the race. The general feeling was that 48 Hours is tougher than either 24 hours or 6 Days because the target kms are higher than 24 Hours but there is less resting time than for a 6 Day.
The race was held again in 1998, this time sponsored by Monument Toyota but attracted only 3 runners . If the race is held again, the 1997 and 1998 results would still be valid for permanent numbers etc.
