Karoo Ultramarathon
First held in 1971. Starts and finishes in Laingsburg. Usually held in
September each year. Relatively easy first 27km along N1 towards Cape Town. Turn right at
Matjiesfontein. Head for the hills towards Sutherland. Turn right on to the
sand road. Undulate towards the final mountain before descending to the N1
again. Turn left and head back to Laingsburg for the finish and a braai
Double marathon over the pass as well as a range of shorter events.
Th event has been date shifted for 2007 from 16th June to
